Tyvek® is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Its unique labyrinth made out of layered filaments creates a tortuous maze for micro – organisms who find it extremely difficult to penetrate this barrier and get on the other side of the film to reach the inside of the pouch. The tough, continuous filaments, also provide excellent tensile strength and tear resistance. Steril Medipac’s sterilization pouches made of DuPontTM Tyvek® are constructed from transparent multilayer PET/PE copolymer film on the top web and uncoated Tyvek® on the bottom web, in compliance with EN 868-9. Water based, non-toxic sterilization indicators for Ethylene oxide gas or Steam or Hydrogen peroxide complying with ISO 13485 are also printed on the Tyvek® surface and help to differentiate sterilized and non-sterilized packages. Tyvek pouch and Rolls are subjected to stringent Quality checks such as balloon burst test, seal strength test, fibre tear on peel, shrinkage in seal area to ensure Sterilization performance and safety of packaged medical device.
